Keynote Speaker:
Theresa Garcia – Assistant Dean for Student Affairs, SDSU College of Engineering
A first-generation college graduate, native San Diegan, and Aztec for Life, Dean Garcia is the first Latina and only woman to serve as a dean in the SDSU College of Engineering. She has spent over three decades championing underrepresented students in STEM, leading initiatives such as the MESA Program and the launch of the Center for Student Success in Engineering (CSSE).
Her legacy includes securing $3M+ in grants, driving statewide collaborations, and developing impactful programs like Femineer®, Women in Engineering, and SDSU’s Learning Culture initiative. Dean Garcia is nationally recognized by organizations including SHPE and MESA, and continues to inspire as a mentor, advisor, and changemaker.
